 A Day of Thanksgiving?
One day of Thanksgiving
Is that all it takes?
A day of full of feasting
On poultry and cakes,
To please our Creator
To obtain His favor
By meaningless words
And mouthwatering savor?

Why only one day
Do we have gratitude?
God gives us so much
What's our attitude?
To mention our thanks
On only one day
Then go about life
And live it our way?

God is so worthy
Of our daily love
He rains on us gifts
From heaven above
Every day that we live
We should grateful
Not saying 'thank you'
And then being hateful
So sing praise to God
And submit everyday
The giving of thanks
When we eat and we pray.

Leviticus 22:29 And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

"God gave you the gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say thank you?"

While the religious world offers but one day annually for thanking God; and the secular world a single Turkey Day to be thankful for all their own hands have wrought, a Christian should often offer the praises of his/her lips to the Creator and Great Sustainer . We share the following scriptures with you and offer our voice with yours in thankfulness to God for all He provides - (even the sometimes painful pruning of the vine to continue proper growth).

And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
(John 6:11)

"In everything give thanks."
( I Thessalonians 5:18)

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
(Philippians 4:6)

"...Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ...."
(Ephesians 5:18-20)

Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
(Psalms 106:1)

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
(Colossians 2:6-7)

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD
, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
(Psalms 92:1)

"Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow."  (Edward Sandford Martin)
